What Information Do You Need From Me?

To help us supply accurate information, please provide our team with:

The date you wish to hire the theatre or studio space. 

The duration of the venue hire.

The time of arrival and departure, including any set up and get out time. 

A brief overview on what you will be hiring the theatre or the studio for.

What Spaces Do You Have Available?

We have a few different spaces which are available to hire. 

• The Empty Space Theatre. This is a full hire of our theatre. This includes the 155 capacity theatre, all of our technical equipment, the bar & reception area as well as Studio One.

• The Other Space. This includes studios 2 & 3. They are available to hire individually, or together.

Do You Have Parking?

Yes! We have parking right outside our venue. If you are hiring the theatre for an evening performance you can use the overflow car park in the brewery.

How Much Do You Charge?

We want to make sure that we can get you the best price possible. We will give an individual quote for each venue hire enquiry. To ensure we can quote the best possible price, please give us as much information as possible.  Our guideline price for a full day hire of the theatre (12 hours) is £475 plus VAT.

Is the Venue Accessible?

Yes! We are really proud that we are a fully accessible venue. This includes a ramp into our building, a ground floor main stage and an accessible toilet.

Can We Decorate the Space?

Of course! When you hire the venue, you are welcome to decorate and adapt the space, provided the decoration does not damage the space or cause a fire risk.

How Should I Promote My show? 

Here at The Empty Space between us we have over 70 years experience in theatre! When you hire our theatre, we will do our best to help you get bums on seats. 

We aim to help you by promoting the show as best we can. However we can't do this without you. We encourage all of our hires to send over a PR kit to help us promote the show.

The best PR Kits include:

• A high-quality poster of the show in both A4 and 1x1.

• Images - rehearsal images, actors headshots, creative team headshots. All 1x1

• Videos - Rehearsal videos, interviews and announcements. All 1x1

• Written Material - A blurb about the show, information on the actors and creatives, an interesting hook, and any reviews or quotes.

• This will be included in our email newsletters and on our social media. You can also put leaflets, banners and posters in the space on the lead-up to the show. 

We are always open to new ways to promote your show when you hire our theatre. So if you have an idea let us know! 

 

Can I Bring My Own Catering?

Yes! You are welcome to bring your own catering. We have a small kitchen facility which you are able to use for hot beverages, and a fridge to store any catering. We do not have cooking facilities. 

We do have catering packages which are available upon request.

Do You Promote the Event?

We are more than happy to promote the event on our social media channels. We are always trying to help bring guests into the venue, or sell tickets to the show!

Do You Provide a Technician?

Our Theatre Hire does not include a technician. However, we can source a technician for you as we have a list of technicians we regularly work with. The cost of the technician would need to be paid directly to them.

Do You Handle Ticket Sales?

If you require us to handle ticket sales when hiring our venue, we can do so. This will be an additional cost. We use Ticketsource.

​

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

Cancellation 8 days prior to booking is free of charge. Cancellation of the hire 3-7 days prior to the booking will incur a 50% charge. Cancellation 48 hours before will incur a 75% charge.

Event Rearranging is negotiable.

How Much Support Do You Provide?

When you hire our theatre, we will support you as much as we can. Whether it's your first time hiring a venue or you are a seasoned professional. Our team is here to make sure your theatre hire goes as smoothly as possible.

What Type of Events Do You Hold?

Our venue is available for hire for a plethora of different events! We have already hosted parties, conferences, theatre shows, cabarets, wedding receptions, live music, comedy nights, workshops, yoga, and so much more! We are a versatile venue, so get in touch! 

Our studio spaces are available to hire for smaller events such as; workshops, castings or rehearsals.

Do You Offer Discounts For Charities?

Absolutely! If you wish to hire the theatre for a charity event or show, just let us know when enquiring.
